Services
Nicholas Thurkettle brings years of practical experience to a wide variety of jobs both in Hollywood and the writing field. And he still seeks intriguing freelance assignments for the opportunity to exercise and expand his skills in the following areas:
Screenwriting
As a screenwriter, Thurkettle has sold and optioned feature screenplays in multiple genres, and earned membership in the Writers Guild of America. He has worked the screenwriting process from all angles – writing both on spec and for hire, developing the screenplays of other writers from conception through production and delivery as a story executive, judging prestigious screenwriting contests, and teaching up-and-coming writers both one-on-one and in his award-winning Internet class. Even as he continues to develop his own original ideas, he is available to write, adapt, re-write, or polish your project.
Freelance Prose
As a writer or ghostwriter, Thurkettle has produced prose fiction, criticism, and journalism since his college days. To date he has published over 1,000,000 words for public consumption. Presently he is at work on his first novel, a commissioned project. If you need anything from a short article to a collaborator or ghostwriter for your book, contact him to find a freelance rate that matches your needs.
Teaching and Consulting
Whether you need individual tutoring in the writing process or on your screenplay, want to assemble a screenwriting masterclass or bootcamp through your educational institution, or are a producer looking to put together a working story department for your fledgling company, Thurkettle has the professional experience to help you.
Crew
An able 1st or 2nd Assistant Director, Thurkettle brings to any film set energy, versatility, an abundance of common sense, and bottomless passion for film and the filmmaking process. He has toted sandbags, held boom mics, and saved days from the inevitable sunset, and loves to spend at least a couple of days a month on a set.
